Rachel Chan, Guest Writer

Have you ever heard actors and actresses go honk? Well now you can, because starting on Friday, March 20 you will be surprised to see a gaggle of cast members, including former Howell students, Rebecca Chan and Abbey Bean, and current Howell students Julia Coulier and Jordan Chantaca perform with grace, style, and flutter their hearts out. That’s right it’s the Community Theatre of Howell’s (CTH) production of Honk Jr.

I was a special guest for the dress rehearsal tonight, and I have to say you never want to miss a show like this.

After the show I talked to co-director, Susan Gronow, dance choreographer, Joey Tripoli, and my sister, Rebecca.

Rachel: Can you tell me about the costumes?

Gronow: The costumes are extremely colorful, handmade originals with lots of feathers.

Rachel: How did you come up with a musical such as this?

Gronow: Mark Wilson, co-director, and I looked at several different scripts, and we really liked the story and the message that different isn’t bad. It’s just different, and we should accept others differences.

Rachel: When are the show dates?

Tripoli: March 21 and 22 at 2pm and March 20 and 21 at 7:30pm

Rachel: Can you tell me the cast list?

Rebecca: The cast list and ticket information can be found on the CTH website, cththeatre.org.

Rachel: Can you tell me a little about the play?

Tripoli: It’s about one duck who doesn’t fit in with everyone else on the farm, so he wanders off and in the process discovers who he really is.

Rachel: Is there anything else you want to say about the show?

Tripoli: Don’t miss out on the show!
