Michigan and Michigan State 2018 Bowl Games

On Sun. Dec. 2, the College Football Playoff selection committee announced the bowl games for the Michigan Wolverines and the Michigan State Spartans. The Wolverines will play in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta, on Dec. 29th at noon. Michigan State will travel to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara to play in the Redbox bowl, on New Year’s Eve.

Michigan (10-2, 8-1) will take on Florida (9-3, 5-3) in a new year’s six matchups. This will be the third matchup in the past four years, with Michigan winning the last two. The Wolverine defense will be down a man as star defensive end, Rashan Gary announced he would skip the bowl game and prepare for the NFL draft. Shea Patterson will be looking to find ways to use the passing game against an outstanding Gator secondary.

Michigan State (7-5, 5-4) will play Oregon (8-4, 5-4) in the Redbox Bowl on New Year’s Eve. It was what some fans might consider an underachieving year for the Green and White. They were plagued with injuries all season, and the offense struggled to move the ball. A loss to Nebraska and a close win at home vs. Rutgers capped of the year. MSU will look to use their elite defense to slow down Justin Herbert and the high powered Ducks offense.
