Starting high school with a bash

By Photo Editor: Gabe Seck

Let’s face it, when you’re about to go into high schoo l- you’re terrified. Will you make it to your classes on time, will you fit in, and how will the older students treat you? All of those are valid questions (though the answers are yes, yes, and we love freshmen).

On Thursday May 15, in an effort to make this transition a bit easier, the eighth grade Class of 2018 parents of both Highlander Way and Parker Middle Schools have decided to throw a little party.

But that would be an understatement.

These parents have worked tirelessly to create an amazing party to start this amazing new chapter for the incoming Howell Highlanders that they like to call ‘The Black and White Bash’. This will be the first year that the dance will combine both of the schools; so what better place than to have a pre-freshman party than the Freshman Campus? These parents have pulled out all the stops:  getting a DJ, a photo booth, candy bar, showing old black and white original Disney cartoons from the 1930s, and so much more.

The doors to the Freshman Campus cafeteria open at 6:30 p.m. and the party ends at 8:30 p.m.. Tickets are $10 and are being sold at both schools until Thursday and will not be sold at the door. This is something your eighth grader does not want to miss, because what better way to start off high school than with a party?

If you would like more information or are willing to donate and/or chaperone the dance, email Stacy Klein at [email protected].
