Directing takes heart, determination, and of course, these three words: Lights, camera, action. A Howell High School senior, Brooke Lys, will be taking on the challenge of directing an entire two act play by herself. The production she chose to put on is called The Apartment and will be shown in the drama room, K-5, at the high school. It will be shown over two days from March 10-11, at 7p.m. Tickets will only be available at the door for $5. There are a maximum 100 seats per show.
Many students receive their start at Howell High, few come back to repay the favor and work to inspire the younger generations of Highlanders. Only 6 out of 100 Howell High staff actually attended the school. One of these rare teachers is the new Ms. Krista Kirby who graduated in 2006.
On Dec. 1, in an after school ceremony in the Howell High School cafeteria, Laura Rumohr was honored as Howell's newest Service Person of the Year. Rumohr is a special needs teacher at Howell, giving her service here for the past 20 years.
