This year Mr. Metz's Leadership classes decided to add another Spirit Week to the year's list of events. The week has been dubbed Survivorfest as it will be going on throughout the week of Senior Survivor. The week will be full of other activities as well, such as limbo and jello challenges during lunch as well as a choir concert and the car show on Thursday.
Due to an upcoming vacancy for the role as the Howell mascot, I'm reaching out and looking for a high-spirited and fun male or female person looking for a life experience that I found incredible. Requirements are very simple, you must be able to fit the entire suit. Also, you must have a flexible schedule to attend as many home games as possible for multiple sports that include football, basketball, and hockey.
Over the past years Howell High has had a contest which allows 9th-12th grade boys to compete for the title of “Mr. Highlander.” The boys dress up during the Winter Fest spirit week and try to be as spirited as possible while collecting money to donate to the St. Baldrick’s foundation for childhood cancer. The winner not only receives the prestigious title, but a cash prize of $200. However, I see one problem with this contest, it has been only offered to boys.
Slip on your dancing shoes, everybody, because Winterfest is just around the corner! The theme for this year is Mardi Gras. Right after the boys’ basketball game on Friday the 13th, the dance will take place in the commons. It goes from 8:00-11:30 that evening.
December 19, Howell’s annual dodge ball game will commence. You can root on your fellow students by donating a dollar to your 7th hour teacher. In order for your class to participate in the assembly 7th hour, 75% of your class must donate to be able to attend. All proceeds will go towards the Howell Gold Cross to help families in our area this Christmas. By Opinion Editor: Mackenzie McDonell
