Directing takes heart, determination, and of course, these three words: Lights, camera, action. A Howell High School senior, Brooke Lys, will be taking on the challenge of directing an entire two act play by herself. The production she chose to put on is called The Apartment and will be shown in the drama room, K-5, at the high school. It will be shown over two days from March 10-11, at 7p.m. Tickets will only be available at the door for $5. There are a maximum 100 seats per show.

For members of student council, this workload only increases as they plan events and raise money for their class. Despite this, senior Kaitlin Rolli, president of the Class of 2015, devotes her time to effectively leading her classmates and crafting a positive school experience.

Howell High School senior, Aspen Pyle, is taking a big step in beginning her life alongside HHS alumni Emily Jewell with their up-and-coming hand-painted shoe business “Last Resorts”. Pyle and Jewell are selling canvas shoes which are hand-painted to the customer’s preference. Determined to start a new chapter in her life, Pyle hopes this innovative recreation will bring in a few extra dollars to help her on the way.

Twirling and catching batons is no easy thing, but junior Emily Coan has no trouble doing that and recently showed off her talent at Nov. 29th’s Miss High School Majorette competition. She started twirling after her mom brought home three batons from when she twirled in high school. Out of her three sisters, she was the only one who liked it and has stuck with twirling for six years.
